Highlighting and more…

…Still have people testing next version…release looks like this weekend or so.

Currently, the bot highlights those players who need to be healed. It’s a little inaccurate because of the ± 5% healing threshold, and is about to become less accurate with another new feature.

I’m considering removing this, and replacing it with [optionally] highlighting the player that the bot has chosen to heal.

However, I also understand that they way it currently works provides a useful at-a-glance idea of party health.

So I ask here: Any objections?

And another thing…
Currently when auto rest is enabled, the bot will /heal on when mp is low.

It will never stand back up unless auto stand is checked. This was a bug that I intend to fix next version. The auto stand preference should only be in relation to casting spells.

Is this going to cause anyone any problems?

  1. I’m not sure what the inaccuracy is. You mean when the bot triggers to cure will be less accurate? I’m sure it’s fine as long as it doesn’t cure too late.

I honestly don’t think the health bar is all that important–I mean if that’s what you’re talking about. If you had the person’s HP% or the person’s HP is sufficient to keep track of a player’s HP.

    • Sorry, I should have been more clear, but I typed that message up pretty quickly.

The inaccuracy is just in the display. Currently, when the bot detects someone is under the healing threshold, it highlights their name (light blue instead of dark blue).

It’s currently a little inaccurate because it highlights it at your healing threshold, not the current healing threshold. That means that with +/- 5% healing threshold enabled, it isn’t always indicative of the playing needing to be healed.

The % it actually heals at is 100% accurate. It will always be dead on. I wont compromise healing performance for any feature.

I’m talking about modifying display only.

      As an example:

      Current:

      85% healing threshold.
Any player <= 85% HPP has their name displayed in light blue (lightsteelblue to be precise.).

      Proposed:

      85% healing threshold.
The player the bot has chosen to heal has their name displayed in crimson. All other players do not have their name highlighted, even if they are <= 85% HPP.

      • Oh, you’re only changing the color of who’s being cured. For me, it doesn’t make any difference. About 80% of the time I have the screen minimized. I only recently realized the steel blue was when I installed 11 on my friend’s PC(I currently play on laptop) and tested a couple things on Windows7 — so much prettier btw. Anyway…! I have no objections lol.

  2. Yeah it looks way better with visual styles.

No problem for me, it will actually be alot more helpful :) Kind of annoying when it keeps getting up to cast cure when the party don’t desperately need it when i could just be healing mp, so i can leave that off. Sounds good =)

  4. Can you please add a auto refresh cycle similar to haste for party members.

Also can you make a rdm/whm use Divine Seal and then Convert and then cast the highest cure spell possible on itself.

Thanks Nanopy for what you do!

    • Auto refresh I’m looking into…

In the past I haven’t set it up to use Divine Seal automatically because of the chance that it will cure someone instead of itself with it up. The only way to be certain would be to prevent the bot from healing anyone else until it is done with convert/healing itself.

      • Maybe put that in the Convert Options as a selectable item with a small warning or something?

      • I don’t know if you guys use Spellcast, but that’s what I use and when the bot converts, SC uses DS. Another plus about using Spellcast is if the bot /heal it will change to your HMP gear, instead of only your staff. It’s extremely easy to set up, just get a simple script from windower.net and change the gear accordingly. Using both SC and Nano makes the PL extremely strong.

        • Yeah, Spellcast works very well for many things that people want me to add into the bot (which is usually why I leave those things at low priority).

However…I have noticed that sometimes Spellcast still causes FFXI to crash–and so I do tend to unload it when I start plvling and wont need to rest much.

  5. Personaly on the auto rest thing I would love to see being able to auto rest when the secondary character isn’t engaged. My personal thing I liked about FF APP

  6. can you put a area you can type the name of the person you wanna PL in ?

    • I haven’t taken the “Also Monitor” feature that far yet. It’s a work-in-progress. I’ll see if I can add that for the next version going forward.

  7. FanOfYourWork

Well I tried SC and PL Bot together and it locked up FFXI recently. I would love to see PL bot able to use DS and then Convert xD

Anyway, thanks for you time\effort Nanopy on this application.

  8. Sorry to hear that. I only gave it as a suggestion because I’ve used it on both my XP laptop and Windows7 PC for several hours in an exp PT and work perfectly. Oh well lol.

  9. will this pl bot let the PLer heal while the party is disengaged and stand up to be ready to heal when the party is engaged to an enemy??

  10. can you put a area you can type the name of the person you wanna PL in ?
